Eight years ago, a friend encouraged Adrian Barrett to apply for a server position at Symphony Square Senior Living in Bala Cynwyd, PA. Today, he’s the community’s Director of Business Administration.
Along the way, Adrian has worked as a dishwasher, concierge, driver, and medication technician, and helped in the administration office before stepping into his current role. Few people know the community from as many angles as he does.
“Working in different departments has helped me understand our community and the teamwork that supports it,” he said. “What started as a job opportunity became a place where I could grow.”
What keeps him there? The people. “The family atmosphere is what makes the community special to me,” Adrian said. “The connections among residents, staff, and leadership make it a welcoming place to come to work each day.”
It’s fitting that one of his favorite mottos is “It’s all about perspective,” since Adrian has seen Symphony Square from nearly every one. “People see things differently,” he said, “and remembering that can help us better understand one another.”

October is Clergy Appreciation Month, and we're celebrating the faith leaders who bring comfort and compassion to our communities.
